Bitácora del capitán:

Con motivo del #SteampunkHandsAroundTheWorld, Cetáceo Negro cogió su botín y se embarcó rumbo a la aventura de revivir las juntas de steampunkers de la Región de Valparaíso, Chile, como no se hacía en muchos años.

Fue una idea que hizo mucha ilusión dentro del grupo, ya que por primera vez en dos años se reunirían los integrantes de Steampunk Valparaíso en la emblemática Quinta Vergara. La organización de Cetáceo Negro estaba expectante, por supuesto, ya que años atrás la convocatoria no había sido muy buena; pero sorprendió gratamente la cantidad de tripulantes interesados en embarcar en esta aventura llegar el sábado 11 de febrero con atavíos y accesorios correspondientes a la estética steampunk, incluso más personas al encontrar al grupo reunidos disfrutando de un té y golosinas se acercaron curiosos y sorprendidos al encontrar una convocatoria de este interés que si bien no es poco conocido, sí es difícil de encontrar reunidos solo por el gusto de compartir.

Ubicados en el sector del Museo Arlequín para extender manteles y comenzar la hora del té con bocadillos, se hicieron las presentaciones correspondientes según la consigna de este Steampunk Hands Around the world, que rezaba conocer cómo esta corriente había influenciado en nuestras vidas y nos había inspirado. Varios al presentarse concordaron que los primeros acercamientos a ella había sido a través de películas (Como Wild Wild West, Volver al futuro 3, La liga de los caballeros extraordinarios), animé (D. gray-man), videojuegos (como la franquicia de American McGee's Alice, muy popular dentro del grupo)  y cómo estas nos habían revelado un mundo completamente acorde al entorno territorial en el que vivimos en la región de Valparaíso en su posición como antigua colonia británica y cuya arquitectura patrimonial fue muy influenciada por los cánones del siglo XIX, del que se podía tomar como base para desarrollar el imaginario steampunk porteño. .

Al final de la junta, Cetáceo Negro presentó el tercer volumen de la edición de su popular Gacetín, inspirado en la temática del amor (a propósito del próximo 14F cercano a la fecha de la convocatoria) en donde se reflejaba el sentimiento amoroso desde la perspectiva steampunk territorial de la región. En esta ocasión, dicho volumen fue otorgado a los presentes como un regalo por su asistencia y la buena onda.

Sin duda, el futuro (o mejor dicho, el retrofuturismo en el caso actual) parece prometedor. Los asistentes acordaron reunirse con mayor regularidad para compartir con el mundo lo que el steampunk nos ha enseñado. Solo queda emprender rumbo a todo vapor, izar las velas y elevar anclas.

Captain's log:

On the occasion of #SteampunkHandsAroundTheWorld, Cetáceo Negro took its booty and embarked on the adventure of reviving the steampunkersmeetingin the region of Valparaiso, Chile, as it wasn´t happened  in many years.

It was an idea that made much excitement, since for the first time in two years the members of the Valparaíso Steampunk group would meet in the emblematic Quinta Vergara. The Cetáceo Negro organization waswaiting anxiously, of course, since years ago the call didn´t work very good; But it was a pleasant  surprise  the number of crew interested in embarking on this adventure to arrive on Saturday 11 of February with costumes and accessories corresponding to the steampunk aesthetics, even more people joined in place finding  the group meeting enjoying tea and goodies, they came curious and surprised to find a call of this interest that although it is not little known, it is difficult to find reunited people just for the pleasure of sharing.

Located in Harlequin Museum sector to spread tablecloths and start tea time with sandwiches, the corresponding presentations were made according to the slogan of this Steampunk Hands Around the world, thatstated  to know how this trend had influenced in our lives and had inspired us .Several people when presenting themselves  agreed that the first approaching  to it had been through films (such as Wild Wild West, Back to the Future 3, The League of Extraordinary Knights), anime (D. Gray-Man), video games (as the franchise of American McGee's Alice, very popular within the group) and how they had revealed a world completely in line with the territorial environment in which we live in the region of Valparaiso as a former British colony whose patrimonial architecture was heavily influenced by the canons of  XIX century, which could be taken as a basis to develop the imaginary “steampunkporteño”.

At the end of the meeting, Cetáceo Negro presented the third edition volume of its popular gazette, inspired by the subject of love (in relation to the next 14F close to the date of the call) in which the loving feeling from the territorial steampunkperspective of the region was reflected. On this occasion, this volume was given to the participants as a gift for their assistance and good vibes.

Undoubtedly, the future (or rather, retrofuturism in the present case) seems promising. Attendees agreed to meet more regularly to share with the world what steampunk has taught us. All we have to do is set out on course full steam, hoist the sails and raise the anchors.
